On February 17, 2023, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the "Bukhara Azteks" sewing enterprise in the Shofirkon district while getting acquainted with the activities of "Bukhara Agrocluster" LLC.
This project was fully completed and put into operation within 90 days, starting in March 2022. The latest modern sewing machines and other equipment were brought from Turkey, Portugal and Japan.
The total cost of the project was 8.7 million US dollars and was fully financed by the entrepreneur.
In order to reduce electricity consumption, 600 solar panels were installed at the enterprise, and 350 kW of electricity or 70% of the demand was provided with alternative energy sources. Today, about 1,200 women are employed. Workers are provided with special clothes and hot food at the enterprise. A free educational club is operating on the first floor of the factory building for the purpose of vocational training of unemployed women in the district. Women who have learned a trade in this circle will be hired at this factory in the future. Currently, we have cooperated with a number of foreign countries and received orders from them. This year, it is planned to export finished products worth more than 16 million US dollars. More than 80% of the products produced by the enterprise are intended for export, the rest are intended for the domestic market. Localization of the products produced at the enterprise is 97 percent. In order to bring the national brand to the world market, more than 10 foreign experts have been hired on the basis of a contract. Negotiations are underway with Melon Fashion Group, Modis, LC Waikiki, which are well-known brands of the world, to export the products produced by the enterprise. During the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the work of the team, evaluated the quality of the products produced at the enterprise, talked with the employees. It was emphasized that the company is using solar panels efficiently. The President emphasized to the officials the need to increase such modern enterprises and ensure the employment of the population.
