Botir Zaripov also visited the cotton fields of Bukhara Agrocluster Zaminlari LLC in the Qarovulbazar district.

Veterans of Karaulbazar labor say that once upon a time, planting seeds and growing cotton in these places for 50-60 years was not even a dream. But today, up to 70-80 centners per hectare are being harvested from those “undreamed-of” lands.

The saying “there is no irrigation water, nothing grows here because of the drought” is now an empty phrase and an excuse. Today, cluster officials, working together with Chinese partners, have proven in practice that with the right approach, it is possible to get a bountiful harvest even from the desert.

For example, the Chinese cotton varieties “Xin Lu Zao-78” and “Xin Lu Zao-57” have a gene for resistance to bollworm and mineral fertilizers, an average plant height of no more than 80-90 centimeters, simultaneous opening of the grown cotton crop, and suitability for machine harvesting are very popular with our farmers.

Last year, “white gold” was grown on 700 hectares, and this year, in early spring, 900 hectares of land were sown and the desired harvest was created. Currently, a team of 82 workers, specialists, foremen, and irrigation mechanizers has introduced drip irrigation on 450 hectares, and the remaining half has grown a rich harvest in open irrigated areas.

This year's cotton harvest is mainly carried out by combine harvesters, and 6 John Deere units have been used since the beginning of the season. The state contract plan is set at 2,700 tons, and the community's workers have already exceeded this "pass".

Nevertheless, the first cotton harvest is just beginning on a large farm on about 300 hectares. So, the "white gold" harvest is almost twice as much as expected.

Botir Zaripov inspected the harvesting processes. The head of the region also talked with cluster officials and those responsible for agriculture, discussing current tasks and future plans.
